VSEE Optoelectronic Steals the Show at 19th Dried Nut & Dried Fruit Food Exhibition & Sourcing Summit with “Three Musketeers” of Sorting Technology
Apr 19, 2026AI-powered color sorter, belt sorter, and chestnut kernel sorter address key pain points for nut and grain processors
HEFEI, China – April 17–19, 2026 – Anhui VSEE Optoelectronic Technology Co., Ltd. made a powerful impression at the 19th China Nut & Dried Fruit Exhibition and Procurement Fair, held at Hefei Binhu International Convention and Exhibition Center. On the very first day, the VSEE booth (Hall 2, Stand T18) welcomed over a hundred professional visitors, with three sorting machines running simultaneously — demonstrating the company’s technological strength and earning widespread recognition from industry peers.
The most frequently asked question from customers was: “What are the differences between these three models? Which production scenarios are they suited for? What practical problems can they solve for our factory?”
Today, VSEE provides a complete breakdown of the core technologies, application scenarios, and industry pain points addressed by each of the three models — allowing those who could not attend the exhibition to fully understand the capabilities of these sorting “champions.”
The three machines unveiled at the expo cover the full range of nut, snack, and grain processing needs:
Grain Color Sorter
Belt Sorter (for large nuts)
Chestnut Kernel Intelligent Sorter – the undisputed “crowd favorite”
Grains vary widely — mung beans, red beans, chickpeas, broad beans, sorghum, oats, and more. VSEE’s grain color sorter handles dozens of materials with fast recipe switching, supporting flexible production for small and medium processors as well as large-scale operations.
Powered by a self-developed CNN convolutional neural network and a database of hundreds of millions of labeled samples, computing power has been increased fourfold. The system quickly builds and iterates sorting models to accurately identify complex foreign materials, subtle blemishes, and product defects.
Multi-spectral high-definition imaging improves visual resolution by 4×, combining color, shape, and texture recognition to eliminate blind spots. Superalloy heat-resistant solenoid valves operate stably at up to 1,200 ejections per second, ensuring precise removal with minimal air consumption, long life, and easy maintenance.
A soft-landing buffer hopper with food-grade silicone curtain reduces impact forces, significantly lowering breakage rates and preserving product integrity.
Difficult changeover → one-touch switching with up to 100 material recipes
Hard-to-identify defects → AI detects even tiny mold or insect damage
High rejection of good product → sorting accuracy >99.99% with very low carryover
Product breakage → soft-landing design protects kernels

Unlike chute-type sorters, the belt sorter uses a heavy-duty conveyor belt, ideal for large or irregularly shaped nuts (walnuts, almonds, macadamia nuts, etc.). Materials spread evenly on the belt for stable imaging and more accurate sorting.
The belt sorter handles significantly higher volumes than chute sorters, making it perfect for processors processing tens or even hundreds of tons per day. Even at high flow rates, it maintains high precision using VHD imaging and AI Wise Selection 4.0.
Nuts often carry oil, salt, or dust. VSEE’s belt sorter uses food-grade materials and a quick-disassembly structure for easy cleaning, ensuring stable performance over long production runs.
Low throughput → belt design enables large-capacity processing
Unstable material movement and poor imaging → belt ensures smooth feeding and stable recognition
Equipment not resistant to oil or difficult to clean → food-grade, oil-resistant, easy-to-clean construction

Chestnut kernels often have wrinkles, browning, sprout eyes, and insect damage that are hard to spot from a single angle. VSEE’s chestnut sorter features a high-speed rotating conveyor system that continuously and smoothly rotates each kernel during transport, enabling 360° scanning to ensure no defect is missed.
Equipped with a 5-megapixel industrial area-scan camera, the system captures clear images at high speeds with a detection precision of 0.02 mm². Selection System 8.0 supports AI online self-learning, leveraging NVIDIA GPU computing power and large-model technology to cover multiple defect types, driving a leap forward in sorting accuracy.
Deeply integrating deep learning with 360° dynamic rotating scanning, the system analyzes multiple features simultaneously — not only removing black spots, insect damage, and mold but also grading by size, while minimizing false rejects of healthy kernels.
360° detection challenge → rotating conveyor achieves blind-spot-free imaging
Inability to remove subtle wrinkles and defects → 5MP area-scan camera + AI large model achieves 0.02 mm² precision
High labor cost → one machine replaces dozens of manual sorters, operating 24/7
High product damage rate → gentle conveying design reduces mechanical injury
